Baseball Falls to Rutgers-Newark in NJAC Tournament Action

Union, N.J. (5/4/19) – The Kean University baseball team was eliminated from the NJAC Tournament as they fell to Rutgers-Newark by the final of 8-5.

The Cougars fell behind early as Rutgers-Newark jumped out to a 5-0 lead after four innings.  Kean erased the shutout in the bottom of the fourth as Zachary Marzano plated Frank LoGiudice who reached on a leadoff single.

The Scarlet Raiders put the game out of reach in the next inning scoring three more for an 8-1 advantage. 

Offensively LoGiudice was 2-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI while Nick Polizzano was 2-for-4 with a double. 

The Cougars will have to wait a week to see if they earned at at-large (Pool C) bid into the NCAA Tournament which is announced on Monday, May 13th.
