Hungerford Named D3football All-American

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (12/18/17) - Senior Darin Hungerford has been named to the All-American second team defense.

The Dumfries, Va. native has been recognized with several postseason accolades as he was named an AFCA Second-Team All-American, the ECAC and NJAC Defensive Player of the Year, while earning first team honors with both conferences. In addition, he was named a first-team member of All-East Region team. The senior finished with 125 tackles, 80 solo tackles, 17 tackles for loss and seven sacks. He led the NJAC in tackles per game (12.4) and total tackles. He is ranked third nationally in solo tackles, sixth in total tackles and 30th in tackles for loss.

This is Hungerford's second selection to the D3football All-American team, after he was selected to the honorable mention in 2016. He becomes the first player in program history to be selected on the D3football All-American first or second team.
