Glassboro, N.J. (11/9/18) – The Kean University football team closed out the 2018 season with a 35-20 setback to Rowan University in NJAC action on Friday evening.
Senior David Patterson Jr. led all players with six catches for 125 yards and a touchdown. Kean's (1-9, 1-8 NJAC) 20 points on the evening gives them their highest single game output of the season.
The Profs (6-4, 5-4 NJAC) scored the game's first 14 points, first with a 49 yard surge early in their first possession and later in their next possession with a 28 yard completion to Nick Grosso.
Rowan took advantage of an interception by Joe DiBari and two plays later made it 21-7 late in the second quarter. The Cougars closed out the half as Marcin Zadlo hit a 38 yard field goal to trail by 11 at the break, 21-10.
The Cougars would cut the deficit to four as Pangborn connected with Patterson for a 72 yard strike on their second possession of the second half. But that would be as close as they would get as Rowan tacked on two more TDs in the second half, including an 81 yard punt return touchdown by Elijah Rehm.
Pangborn was 21-of-45 for 278 yards and two touchdowns. Zadlo connected on two field goals and two extra points while also averaging 58.2 yards per kickoff. Defensively Dante Capozzoli finished with a team-high eight tackles while DeShawn Reed added five, including an 11 yard sack.
