Field Hockey Falls to Wilkes in Consolation of Connie Harnum Classic

SELINSGROVE, Pa. (9/1/18)- A late first half goal proved to be the difference as the #14 Kean University field hockey team fell to Wilkes University, 1-0 in the consolation of the Connie Harnum Classic on Saturday afternoon.

Lauren Shiplett scored the game-winning goal for the Colonels who improve to 1-1 overall. Audrey Treanor totaled five shots for the Cougars who fall to 0-2 overall.

Despite the loss, Kean edged Wilkes on shots (13-6) and penalty corners (15-3).  Dallas Kendra made 10 saves as the Cougars couldn't find the answer for Wilkes first half score.

Jenna Patrone totaled four shots, while Emily DeFalco tallied two.  Megan Houser played all 70 minutes and made three saves.

Erin Donnelly and Taylor Hutchins were both named to the All-Tournament Team.

Head Coach Leslie LaFronz and the Cougars will return to action in Glenside, Pa. on Wednesday, Sept. 5th, against the Knights of Arcadia University at 7:00 p.m.
