Treanor Scores as Field Hockey Falls to Marywood

SCRANTON, Pa. (9/9/18)- Audrey Treanor notched her second career goal as the Kean University field hockey team dropped a non-conference contest to Marywood University, 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Kenzie Drew scored both goals for the Pacers who improve to 3-1 overall. Jenna Patrone and Rachel Mills both took three shots apiece for the Cougars who fall to 1-4 overall.

Kean took a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute when Treanor scored off a rebound from a defensive save. The Cougars maintained the lead into halftime. The second half saw Marywood score two unanswered including the game-winner in the 68th minute.

Kean edged Marywood 16-8 on shots and 12-6 on corners. The Cougars tallied 13 of their 16 shots in the second half but couldn't find the back of the cage.

Kayla Molnar totaled two shots, while Erin Donnelly, Emily Van Pelt, and Melissa Way all recorded one. Megan Houser finished with three saves in the loss.

Head Coach Leslie LaFronz and the Cougars will return to action in Waterville, Maine on Saturday, Sept. 15th against the Terriers of Thomas College at 11:00 a.m.
