WATERVILLE, Maine (9/15/18)- Brenna Delbagno tallied her first career goal and Rachel Mills scored the game-winner as the Kean University field hockey team dispatched Thomas College, 2-1 on Saturday morning.
Melissa Way tallied three shots for the Cougars who improve to 2-4 overall. Britney Gregoire scored the lone goal for the Terriers who fall to 3-4 overall.
Delbagno scored the opening goal of the contest, when she stopped a Kayla Molnar corner in midair and redirected it past the keeper for the 1-0 lead in the 26th minute.
After the Terriers answered early in the second half, the Cougars responded with the eventually game-winner in the 47th minute as Mills scored off a Jenna Patrone pass from about 15 feet out.
Mills finished with six shots, Delbagno totaled two and both Erin Donnelly and Patrone each recorded one apiece.
Head Coach Leslie LaFronz and the Cougars will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 18th, hosting the Bulldogs of DeSales University at 7:30 p.m.
