Field Hockey Drops NJAC Opener to Stockton, 1-0

UNION, N.J. (9/29/18) - A goal in the 20th minute downed the Kean University field hockey team in their New Jersey Athletic Conference opener against Stockton University, 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Madison Dancisin scored the game-winner for the Ospreys who improve to 7-2 overall and 1-0 in the NJAC. Jenna Patrone totaled five shots for the Cougars who fall to 4-7 overall and 0-1 in the NJAC.

Kean edged Stockton on shots (16-10) and corners (17-6), including a 10-4 shots advantage and a 10-2 corners advantage in the second half.

Erin Donnelly totaled three shots, while Rachel Mills, Audrey Treanor, and Melissa Way all tallied two shots apiece. Megan Houser made four saves in 70 minutes of work in the cage.

Head Coach Leslie LaFronz and the Cougars will return to action in Montclair, N.J. on Tuesday, Oct. 2nd, against the #11 Red Hawks of Montclair State University at 7:00 p.m.
