Field Hockey Blanks New Paltz on Senior Night

UNION, N.J. (10/23/18)- Jenna Patrone notched two goals as the Kean University field hockey team blanked SUNY New Paltz, 3-0 on Senior Night

Kayla Molnar tallied a goal for the Cougars who improve to 8-10 overall. Jessica Ascencao totaled four shots for the Hawks who fall to 10-6 overall.

Kean scored first as Patrone stole the ball from a Hawks defender and ripped a shot from just inside the circle for the 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute. The Cougars increased their lead to 2-0 in the 40th minute, when Molnar tapped in a Patrone pass.

Patrone answered one more time in the 49th minute, when she dribbled into the defense and ripped a shot from the middle of the circle.

Kean held the advantage on shots (24-10) and on corners (10-7).

Patrone finished with 15 shots, while Melissa Way tallied three and Audrey Treanor totaled two.

Before the game, Molnar was honored by the coaching staff for her hardwork and dedication to the program.

Head Coach Leslie LaFronz and the Cougars will return to action in Wayne, N.J. on Saturday, Oct. 27th for their season finale against the Pioneers of William Paterson University at 1:00 p.m.
