Men’s Basketball Drops Road Test at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. (1/26/14) – The Kean University men's basketball team was topped by Division I Princeton University 84-54 in an intrastate matchup on Sunday afternoon at Jadwin Gym.

The game counts towards the records of both schools; Princeton is now 12-3 on the year, while the Cougars moved to 10-7. The game was the final non-conference game of the year for both teams.

Seniors Ali Mix and Xavier Fuller were in double figures for Kean, and Fuller missed a double-double by just two rebounds (10 points / 8 boards).

14 different Tigers scored in the contest, led by Will Barrett, T.J. Bray and Spencer Weisz, who scored exactly 15 points each. Princeton led wire-to-wire in the matchup.

The Cougars also had a long stat sheet; 10 different players scored and 14 saw action on the afternoon. Tim Steward (pictured left) shot .667 from behind the arc and he, Fuller, Mix, Mike Diamond and Ja'Quan Matthews each shot 50 percent from the floor.

Kean will be back in action at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, when the Cougars resume NJAC play at Ramapo College.
