Jersey City, N.J. (2/1/16) – New Jersey City University used a first half surge to power past the Kean University men's basketball team by the final of 79-52 on Monday night.
In the rescheduled NJAC matchup, the Gothic Knights improved to 11-2 in the NJAC and 13-6 overall while the loss drops Kean to 3-16 and 3-10 in conference play.
After an early seesaw battle, the Knights stretched their lead to double-digits near the 10 minute mark as James Julius used a trey to take a 22-12 lead. NJCU then found their rhythm and pushed the advantage out to as many as 29, including the halftime score of 52-23.
The Gothic Knights then paced through the second half to keep hold of their first place conference standings in the win.
Kean returns right back to action on Wednesday when they host Rutgers-Newark at 8 p.m.
