Division I Boston University Downs Men’s Basketball

BOSTON, Mass. (12/28/15) – Division I Boston University topped the Kean University men's basketball team by a count of 86-53 on Monday in Boston. The Terriers are now 7-6 on the year, while the Cougars fell to 1-9.

Tommy Soulias (pictured left) led Kean with 19 points, and freshman Micah Kerr chipped in with 11. The Cougars racked up 14 assists on their 17 field goals on the night and forced more turnovers than they committed.

Timothy Bradley had three blocks for Kean, Mike Diamond had eight points and five assists and Diego Pujols came up with four steals during the game.

Boston University had five players in double figures, led by Nick Havener's  18. The Terriers won the rebounding battle 45-22 during the game.

BU is the second Division I opponent for Kean this year. The Cougars dropped a 107-62 exhibition decision at Columbia University on November 13. Monday marked the first-ever matchup between Kean and Boston U.

Fifth-year Boston University head coach Joe Jones served as the head coach at Columbia from 2003-2010. Kean's ninth-year head coach Rob Kurzinsky served as the director of basketball operations for the Lions under Jones in 2005-06.

The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday when they host SUNY New Paltz at 1 p.m. All remaining games for Kean this season are against Division III opponents.
