William Sixsmith totaled 21 points and knocked down six triples for the Bearcats who improve to 1-0 overall. Kerr totaled 18 points for the Cougars who fall to 0-2 overall.
After holding an early 5-2 lead on a Kerr layup, Baruch broke the game wide open with a 24-9 run that stretched the Bearcats advantage to 26-12 with 10:36 remaining in the first half. Baruch shot a staggering 69.9% from the floor and 58.3% from downtown in the opening stanza as the Bearcats took a 48-29 advantage into halftime.
The second half proved to be more even with both squads shooting around 40.0% and totaling 34 points. Kean had a tough time recovering from the first half deficit as the CUNY school eventually stretched their lead to the largest of the game at 77-50 with 3:10 remaining.
Latane scored nine points, while Kerr poured in seven during the more balanced second half. Jodrell Thompson finished with eight points and three rebounds, while Justin Watson totaled five points and three rebounds.
Head Coach Adam Hutchinson and the Cougars will return to action in Newark, N.J. on Wednesday, Nov. 14th, against the Highlanders of NJIT at 7:00 p.m.
