Late Rally Sends Adrian Past Men's Lacrosse

Olivet, Mich. (2/23/13) – The Kean University men's lacrosse team suffered a one-goal setback to host Adrian College on Saturday evening by the final of 6-5.

In a strange day of events, the Cougars and Bulldogs had to move their matchup from Adrian College to Olivet College (a distance of 80 miles) after local authorities asked that the field be cleared prior to the game as a precaution because of an incident happening in a residence close to the stadium.

Due to the circumstances and the snowy weather, there was limited statistical information provided postgame for tonight's recap.

The Cougars (0-1) scored first on a goal from sophomore Dylan Conte and took a 4-2 lead into the break as junior Richard Cheifitz netted a hat trick in the opening 30 minutes.

Kean would add on to that lead with a man-up goal from senior Brad Mills for a 5-3 advantage.  Adrian (1-0) would rally late, and scored the final three goals of the matchup, including the game-winner in the final five minutes to walk away with the win.

The Cougars open up their home slate on Wednesday, February 27th when they host Vassar College at 7 p.m.
