BRONX, N.Y. (4/23/16) - The Kean University men's lacrosse team dominated the College of Mount St. Vincent Saturday afternoon on the road, 16-5, picking up a Skyline Conference win. Kean improves to 10-5 and 3-2 in the league.
The Dolphins may have scored the game's first goal, but the Cougars answered with a whopping 10 first half tallies for an explosive start. In the first quarter, Anthony Carpenter and Sean Conway (pictured left) each had two goals in a 4-0 spurt for Kean. Carpenter joined with Anthony Perrotta and Mike Singer to assist their goals just 18 seconds apart to end the quarter with a 6-2 lead.
Kean's three goals went unanswered in the third quarter as the teams settled into their blowout roles. Both Perrotta and Brian Mills scored man-up goals, and Mills scored once more unassisted. The Cougars finished the second half with goals from Mark Marchino, Kevin Dolan and Matt Speciale - with assists going to Aidan Burnett and Carpenter.
Kean's defense allowed only one goal in the second half. Cougar goalkeeper Maxwell Fields made four saves in the victory. Peter D'Antoni played the last three minutes in goal and made two saves on two attempts.
Ed Adams won the face-off battle, 15-18, and scooped up nine ground balls.
