Farmingdale, N.Y. (4/29/17) – Senior Matt Brodley led the Kean University men's lacrosse team with four goals in a 16-7 setback to Farmingdale State College on Saturday afternoon in the Skyline Conference Tournament first round.
The Cougars stand with an 8-8 overall record and will have to wait a week to see if they qualify for the ECAC Tournament which will be announced on Monday, May 8th.
Kean jumped out to a 2-0 lead behind markers from Brodley (pictured left) and Tom Kelly. The Rams tied things up midway through the first period but the Cougars responded and pushed the advantage back out to two as Brodley collected back-to-back tallies.
Ryan Wieczorek tied the game at four-all thirty seconds into the second quarter and the teams traded single goals to knot the game at five before Farmingdale took the lead for good on a Stephen White goal with 8:35 to go in the first half.
Wieczorek finished with nine goals to lead Farmingdale (12-5) who travels to take on Montclair State on Wednesday in the semifinals.
