COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (3/14/18)- Jake Frankovits finished with four points on three goals and one assist as the Kean University Men's Lacrosse team fell to the College of Wooster at Colorado College on Wednesday evening.
Alexander Bloom totaled six goals for the Fighting Scots who improve to 4-2 overall. Matt Palmieri totaled two assists for the Cougars who fall to 3-1 overall.
Kean was playing catch up from the opening faceoff as Frankovits notched his hat-trick in the first half, including scoring with 38 seconds remaining before halftime. The Cougars trailed 9-7 at intermission.
A scoreless third quarter put Kean into a hole that they couldn't recover from as Wooster scored seven unanswered goals before Tyler Roberto netted an unassisted goal in the fourth.
The Scots held the advantage on shots (47-34) groundballs (35-23) and faceoffs won (21-8).
Roberto, Jack Bushey, and Kevin Dolan each tallied a goal and an assist. Palmieri added four groundballs and three caused turnovers, while Matt Tanis totaled four groundballs and two caused turnovers. Thomas Francy and Mike Snellen each totaled three groundballs apiece. Snellen tallied a goal, while Francy made nine saves in 30 minutes of work in net. Ryan Sieb made four saves and took the loss for Kean.
Head Coach Shelley Sheiner and the Cougars will return to action in Colorado Springs, Colo. on Friday, Mar. 16th against the Tigers of Colorado College at 7:00 p.m.
