Thomas Francy made 15 saves for the Cougars who improve to 7-2 overall, while Eric Soderquist totaled six points on four goals and two assists for the Bears who fall to 2-5 overall.
Kean did all their damage in the first half, including scoring seven of their 11 goals in the second quarter. After scoring four unanswered goals, including two from Kelly and one from Blackley, the Cougars held an 11-5 advantage with 2:27 remaining in the first half.
Potsdam was able to score a goal with six seconds remaining as Kean took an 11-6 lead into halftime.
The second half belonged to the Bears as Potsdam outshot Kean, 21-9, and notched two goals in each quarter to nearly erase the Cougars halftime lead. After a Ryan Waldron goal, pulled Potsdam to within one at 11-10 with 1:40 remaining. Francy, who improved to 2-0 in goal, made a game-tying save with one second remaining to preserve the victory.
Tyler Roberto finished with three points on two goals and one assist, while Jake Frankovits, Mike Snellen, and Andrew Yenesel each tallied a goal. Matt Palmieri collected a team-high five groundballs and two caused turnovers. Matt Tanis totaled two caused turnovers and two groundballs as well, while Snellen scooped up four groundballs.
Head Coach Shelley Sheiner and the Cougars will return to action in Purchase, N.Y. on Tues. Apr. 3rd, against the Valiants of Manhattanville College at 7:00 p.m.
