Men’s Lacrosse Grounded by Stockton

GALLOWAY, N.J. (4/28/18)- Thomas Francy made 13 saves as the Kean University men's lacrosse team was grounded by Stockton University, 17-6 on Saturday evening.

Luc Swedlund finished with seven points on five goals and two assists for the Ospreys who improve to 10-4 overall. Mark Marchino totaled two goals for the Cougars who fall to 12-4 overall.

Kean fought uphill all evening as Stockton opened the contest with six unanswered before the Cougars notched their first goals of the evening with back-to-back scores by Cole Blackley and Tyler Roberto with less than three minutes to play in the first quarter.

Stockton responded with eight unanswered goals which stretched their lead to 14-2 with 12:43 remaining in the third. Despite the large deficit, the Cougars notched goals by Andrew Yenesel, Marchino, and Forrest Terpe all in the final minute of the third quarter.

In the fourth, Marchino scored his second goal of the evening while Stockton added another three goals.

Connor Baucom went 14-for-23 on faceoffs with 10 groundballs, while Mike Snellen totaled three groundballs. Ryan Gallagher and Matt Palmieri each tallied two groundballs.  

Head Coach Shelley Sheiner and the Cougars will return to action on Friday, May 4th, hosting the Red Hawks of Montclair State University in the regular season finale beginning at 7:00 p.m.
