Wrapping Up: Men's Lacrosse 2018

The Kean University men's lacrosse team won 12 games, including a nine-game winning streak as the Cougars played an independent schedule in 2018.

Kean recorded their 10th season under Head Coach Shelley Sheiner with at least 10 wins and the first since 2016. 

Kean scored 160 goals and averaged just over 10 goals per contest. In fact, the Cougars edged out opponents in goals scored, shots per game, man-up goals, groundballs, turnovers, caused turnovers, faceoffs and clears.

On offense, Kean had three Cougars tally over 30 points, including Mike Snellen 44 points (21 goals, 23 assists), Tyler Roberto 38 points (28 goals, 10 assists) and Andrew Yenesel 32 points (16 goals, 16 assists).

On defense, newcomers Matt Tanis and Matt Palmieri made a significant impact with Palmieri totaling 84 groundballs and 32 caused turnovers, while Tanis tallied 35 groundballs and 23 caused turnovers. In goal, Thomas Francy posted a 7-2 record with 108 saves and a .590 save percentage in 537.08 minutes logged between the pipes.  On faceoff, Connor Baucom totaled 141 faceoff victories with 56 groundballs and a .573 faceoff percentage.

The Cougars were recently selected to the ECAC Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament slated to begin May 12th.
