MEMPHIS, Tenn. (3/13/19) – Jack Bushey and Mike Snellen combined for two goals apiece as the Kean University men's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference contest to Rhodes College, 13-8 on Wednesday evening.
Matt Perez scored five goals for the Lynx who improve to 6-2 overall. Thomas Francy made 12 saves for the Cougars who fall 1-1 overall.
Bushey scored both goals to open the first and second quarters, but Kean found themselves in a 7-4 deficit at halftime after Snellen scored a man-up goal with 2:15 to play.
Jake Frankovits opened the second stanza with a goal to pull Kean to within 7-5, before Rhodes scored six straight goals, including four from Perez. Tyler Roberto, Jason Andreadis and Snellen all notched late goals before the final horn sounded.
Freshman Daniel Lee recorded his first career goal with an unassisted score in the second quarter.
Defensively, Matt Palmieri totaled four groundballs and two caused turnovers, while Connor Baucom tallied five groundballs. Matt Tanis collected four groundballs, while Snellen, Greg Castor, Joey McNulty all finished with three groundballs.
Head Coach Shelley Sheiner and the Cougars will return to action at Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY on Saturday, Mar. 16th, against the Panthers of Hanover College from Indiana at 3:00 p.m.
