UNION, N.J. (4/6/19) - Seven different Cougars netted a goal as the Kean University men's lacrosse team tallied its first ever Colonial States Athletic Conference victory with a 7-6 decision over Bryn Athyn College.
Nick Moffa went a perfect 17-for-17 on faceoffs and scored the go-ahead goal for the Cougars who improve to 6-4 overall and 1-1 in the CSAC. James Vandegrift, Cameron Leech and Kyle Shaffer each notched two goals apiece for the Lions who fall to 2-6 overall and 1-1 in the CSAC.
After both sides pumped in three first half goals, Bryn Athyn opened the second half with two goals in the first four minutes to take a 5-4 lead with 9:25 remaining in the third. Kean responded with a Kevin Dolan goal off a Jake Frankovits assist to even the game at 5-5 with 5:17 remaining. Moffa put Kean on top just six seconds later with the eventual go-ahead goal on the ensuing faceoff. The freshman won the faceoff and went straight to the cage for just his third goal of the season.
