Men’s Lacrosse Sets New Single Game Mark and Clinches Playoff Spot with Victory over Rosemont

UNION, N.J. (4/23/19) - The Kean University men's lacrosse program established a new team single game record for goals the second time this season and clinched the third seed in the upcoming Colonial States Athletic Conference tournament with a 30-7 decision over Rosemont College on Tuesday evening.

Kyle Ryder and Tyler Roberto both finished with four goals apiece for the Cougars who finish the regular season at 11-5 overall and 4-2 in the CSAC. Ben Koszelak netted a hat-trick for the Ravens who finish their regular season at 3-11 overall and 2-4 in the CSAC.

Ryder scored four of Kean's 11 first quarter goals as the Cougars took a comfortable 11-2 advantage into the second quarter. Kean added eight more in the second with Roberto scoring three goals for a 19-4 halftime advantage.

The Cougars eased their foot off the gas with just seven goals in the third including scores by Tommy Pellegrino, Jason Andreadis, Kevin Dolan, Bryce Berger, Jack Kapcsos and Danny Bill. Kean established the new record in the fourth with Dolan scoring an assisted goal by Nick Fischetti.

Nick Moffa and Connor Baucom each collected six groundballs, while Jonathan Duffy totaled five.

Kean broke their own record set a week ago in the 28-8 victory over the Sages Colleges.

Head Coach Shelley Sheiner and the Cougars will return to action in Montclair, N.J. on Saturday, Apr. 27th, against the second seeded Red Hawks of Montclair State University in the semifinals of the CSAC Tournament.
