Sieb Tallies 17 Saves in CSAC Semifinal Loss to Montclair State

MONTCLAIR, N.J. (4/27/19)- Ryan Sieb made 17 saves as the Kean University men's lacrosse team fell to Montclair State University in the semifinals of the Colonial States Athletic Conference tournament, 20-7 on Saturday afternoon.

Matt Haemmerle totaled 11 points on eight goals and three assists for the Red Hawks who improve to 10-6 overall and advance to next Saturday's CSAC championship game. Jake Frankovits finished with three points on three goals for the Cougars who finish their season at 11-6 overall.

MSU opened the contest with three straight goals, before Mike Snellen scored one of his two first half goals as Kean trailed 3-1 with 9:06 remaining in the opening quarter.

Snellen notched his second goal with less than four minutes to play in the second after Montclair State pumped in another four goals to hold a 9-3 advantage at halftime.

Despite goals from Frankovits, Tyler Roberto and Cole Blackley, the Red Hawks extended their halftime lead to 17-7 with just over five minutes remaining in the contest.

Defensively, Matt Tanis totaled seven groundballs, while Greg Castor finished with five groundballs and a caused turnover. Blackley added four groundballs and two caused turnovers, while Nick Moffa went 7-for-15 on faceoffs with four groundballs.
