Late Goal Downs Men’s Soccer in NJAC Opener Against Stockton, 1-0

UNION, N.J. (9/15/18) - A goal in the 70th minute downed the Kean University men's soccer team against Stockton University, 1-0 in their New Jersey Athletic Conference opener on Saturday afternoon.

Villy Fortulus notched the game-winner for the Ospreys who improve to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the NJAC. Felipe Lucas took three shots for the Cougars who fall to 4-2 overall and 0-1 in the NJAC.

In a highly physical contest, that saw 33 fouls called and three cards issued, Kean outshot Stockton all afternoon, 14-7. Despite those numbers, the Cougars couldn't finish on their own end.

Alex Nicol, Jake Santos, Fanor Arango, and Danny Guillen all tallied two shots apiece.  Derek Phells made three saves in 90 minutes.

Head Coach Peter-John Falloon and the Cougars will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 19th, hosting the Bears of Ursinus College at 7:30 p.m
