Men’s Soccer Plays to 1-1 Draw with TCNJ

UNION, N.J. (10/6/18)- Ramesses Moore-McGuinness notched a goal as the Kean University men's soccer team played to a 1-1 double overtime draw with the College of New Jersey on Saturday afternoon.

The Cougars (5-5-3, 1-3-1 NJAC) scored in the opening half as Moore-McGuinness found the back of the net when a Danny Guillen shot was stopped and the ball bounced back to the freshman for the 1-0 lead in the 19th minute. TCNJ (7-4-1, 1-3-1 NJAC) waited until the second half to even everything at 1-1 in the 74th minute, when Ryan Santos connected with Ryan Vazquez.

The final 35 minutes saw neither team get the golden goal as the Cougars earned their third draw of the season and the first in NJAC play.

The Cougars edged the Lions on shots (21-11) and corners (10-2). Moore-McGuinness totaled seven shots, while Felipe Lucas tallied four. Jake Santos and Justin Homer each collected two apiece.

Head Coach Peter-John Falloon and the Cougars will return to action in Mahwah, N.J. on Wednesday, Oct. 10th, against the RoadRunners of Ramapo College at 3:30 p.m.
