Men’s Soccer Falls in Overtime to Ramapo

MAHWAH, N.J. (10/17/18)- Felipe Lucas scored the game-tying goal as the Kean University men's soccer team fell in overtime to Ramapo College, 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon.

Joseph Fala tallied both goals for the Roadrunners who improve to 12-2-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Lucas and Erick Reyes both totaled two shots for the Cougars who fall to 5-7-3 overall and 1-5-1 in the NJAC.

Kean trailed for most of the contest until the Cougars earned a penalty kick opportunity in the 62nd minute. Lucas was elected to take the kick and calmly deposited the ball into the back of the net to even the match at 1-1.

The contest eventually entered overtime after a scoreless final 27 minutes. In the extra session, the Roadrunners notched the golden goal on their very first shot of overtime

Ramapo outshot (26-8) and out-cornered (8-2) Kean. 

Damjan Agaj, Ramesses Moore-McGuinness, Matthew Almeida and Jimmy Lima each tallied a shot for the Cougars. Derek Phells made six saves in the loss.

Head Coach Peter-John Falloon and the Cougars will return to action in Newark, N.J. on Saturday, Oct. 20th against the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers-Newark at 7:30 p.m.
