Men's Volleyball Extends Win Streak to Eight

UNION, N.J. (2/26/16) - The Kean University men's volleyball team swept Keuka College and Bard College on Friday evening, improving to 13-5 on the season. The Cougars have won eight-consecutive matches. 

Kean was up by as many as five points in the first set against Keuka, but the Wolfpack came back to tie the score at 17. As the advantage see-sawed, but Keuka knotted the score at 22, then won the next three points to take the first set 25-22.

The Cougars came alive in the second and third sets, fighting to get ahead with an early lead in both. In the fourth and final set Kean never trailed, winning going away 25-11. 

Jacob Kauffman led the team with 15 kills and five aces in the match. Tommy Rosario followed with 10 kills and assisted on eight blocks. 

The set scores in the match were 22-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-11. 

Connor Gail led the Wolfpack with 12 kills. 

In the night's finale, Kean swept Bard in three-straight sets. Nicholas Buseski finished with nine kills and seven digs. Steve Schrank led the Cougars with 22 assists and Shayron Taylor hit .571 in the match. The team combined for a total of seven blocks. Zach Lynne (pictured left) had four digs as the Kean libero in the final two sets.

The set scores were 25-17, 25-10, 25-14. 

The Raptors were led by Alex Adams and Jesse Small, who both put away six kills. 

The Cougars will hit the road on Sunday, February 28th for two conference match ups against Purchase College and NJCU at 12:00 and 2:00 p.m.
