Men’s Volleyball Slotted 11th in AVCA Preseason Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. (1/5/18) - The Kean University men's volleyball team has been slotted 11th in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) preseason poll, released on Wednesday.  


The Cougars earned a sixth-straight Skyline Conference Championship in 2017 and will end its tenure as a Skyline member on a 76-match league winning streak, a run that goes back to 2013. Kean qualified for the NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Championship for the sixth-straight year and are one of only two teams to have made the field in each of the six seasons it the tournament has been held.

Kean was ranked as high as No. 7 nationally finished the year with a 26-9 record. The Cougars also captured the Kean Winter Classic Championship to kick off the year with a perfect 4-0 record at the event.

Head Coach Charlie Ginex and the Cougars will open the 2018 season on Friday, Jan. 19th, hosting the Dolphins of the College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Kean Winter Classic at 4:00 p.m.
