Milnazik finished with 12 kills and Flor totaled 11 for the Cougars who remain unbeaten at 3-0 overall. Antonio Sargent totaled 12 kills and seven digs for the Golden Flyers who fall to 0-1 overall in their 2019 season opener.
Kean dropped the opening set as Nazareth hit .353 and the Cougars produced a negative hitting percentage (- .038) in a dominating 25-18 victory for the Golden Flyers. The Cougars struggled early in the second set but started to find their rhythm and grinded a 29-27 victory on a Milnazik kill and a bad set by Tyler Farnung. Kean carried that momentum into the third and fourth sets where the Cougars used their experience to overwhelm Nazareth as they hit above .200 in both sets.
Jay Bynum totaled seven kills, while Adam Casper finished with five kills. Steven Zarzycki tallied four kills and eight digs, while Kamil Garbowski finished with four kills and three digs. Ian Capp totaled 35 assists, eight digs, and six aces, while Nico Mercadante collected six digs.
Head Coach Charlie Ginex and the Cougars will return to action on Friday, Jan. 25th, hosting North Central College and Hunter College on the first day of the 2019 Clash at Kean. The Cougars play North Central at 2:00 p.m. and Hunter at 8:00 p.m.
