Bynum and Zarzycki Named Inaugural NJAC Men’s Volleyball Players of the Week

PITMAN, N.J. (1/21/19)- Jay Bynum and Steven Zarzycki have been named the Inaugural New Jersey Athletic Conference Men's Volleyball Players of the Week. Bynum has been tabbed the Player of the Week, while Zarzycki has earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Bynum totaled 18 kills and nine blocks over three matches this past weekend. The Philadelphia native averaged 1.80 kills per set and 0.90 blocks per set with a .519 hitting percentage. He totaled seven kills and two solo blocks in the 3-1 victory over Nazareth on Jan. 19th.

Zarzycki totaled 16 kills, 17 digs, five aces, and five blocks over three matches this weekend. The Rochester, N.Y. native averaged 1.60 kills per set, 0.50 aces per set, 1.70 digs per set and 0.50 blocks per set while posting a .306 hitting percentage. He finished with four kills, eight digs and two solo blocks in the 3-1 victory over Nazareth on Jan. 19th.

The Cougars will return to Harwood Arena this weekend for the 2019 Clash at Kean on Jan. 25-26. Harwood Arena and Kean University is also the site of the 2019 NCAA Men's Volleyball National Championship on Apr. 26-27.
