#4 Men’s Volleyball Swept in Regular Season Finale by Nationally Ranked SUNY New Paltz

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. (4/6/19) – Kamil Garbowski tallied a team-high 10 kills and posted a .769 hitting percentage as the #4 Kean University men's volleyball team dropped their regular season finale to SUNY New Paltz on Saturday evening.

Nick Smith and Aaron Carrk combined for 26 kills as the #10 Hawks finish the regular season at 22-7 overall. Ian Capp totaled 17 assists and five kills for the Cougars who finish the regular season at 22-6 overall.

New Paltz was solid all night hitting above a .350 across all three sets, including a .458 percentage in set one and a .424 percentage in set two. The Cougars only hit .250 for the match, including a .393 percentage in the close set two loss.

Garbowski totaled five kills over the first two sets, while collecting five kills in just the third set alone.

Dylan Flor totaled six kills and two digs, while Jay Bynum finished with five kills and two solo blocks. Jake Milnazik and Steven Zarzycki each collected two kills.

Head Coach Charlie Ginex and the Cougars will return to action in Buena Vista, Va. on Friday, Apr. 12th in the semifinals of the Continental Volleyball Conference tournament at Parry McCluer High School. The match is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start time.
