Softball Tabbed Fourth in NJAC Preseason Coaches Poll

PITMAN, N.J. (2/12/19) – The Kean University softball team has been slotted fourth in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.

The Cougars were picked fourth with Rowan, TCNJ and Ramapo all falling into the first, second and third slots. Rowan collected eight first-place votes, while TCNJ tallied two. The rest of the poll is as follows: Stockton, Montclair State, Rutgers-Camden (Dark Horse), Rutgers-Newark, William Paterson, and NJCU.

Kean won 26 games last season and made their fifth straight appearance in the NJAC Tournament. The Cougars return all three conference selection in Olivia Zengel, Cayleen Rizo and Jacqueline Riley.

Head Coach Margie Acker and the Cougars will open the 2019 season on Saturday, Feb. 23rd, hosting the Bulldogs of DeSales University for a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m.
