CAMDEN, N.J. (4/13/19) – Olivia Zengel went 4-for-7 with four runs scored and three RBI's as the #23 Kean University softball team extended their New Jersey Athletic Conference winning streak to four games with a doubleheader sweep of Rutgers-Camden on Saturday afternoon.

Jacqueline Riley went 2-for-4 with three RBI's at the plate and struck out nine batters in a complete game victory as the Cougars (25-5, 5-4 NJAC) shutout the Scarlet Raptors (6-15, 2-7 NJAC) in game one.
Riley improved to 11-1 in the circle as she only allowed two hits in the decision. O. Zengel went 2-for-4 with two RBI's and two runs scored, while both Caroline Ratti and Maria Bonfanti finished 1-for-3 with two RBI's.
Ratti started Kean's scoring in the third as she recorded her fourth homerun of the season with a two-run shot to right for a 2-0 lead. The Cougars added another five runs in the fifth with two multiple run RBI singles by Bonfanti and Riley. O. Zengel tallied an RBI single herself as Kean increased their advantage to 7-0.
Riley and O. Zengel would add insurance runs in the seventh with RBI singles to right and left field.
Kean 4, Rutgers-Camden 0
Julie Raba finished 3-for-4 with an RBI, while O. Zengel went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI as the Cougars (26-5, 6-4 NJAC) once again held the Scarlet Raptors (6-16, 2-8 NJAC) to just two hits in a shutout loss.
The contest remained scoreless into the sixth when Sarah Zengel earned an RBI on a fielder's choice that scored her cousin. The rest of the runs would come in the seventh with O. Zengel, Raba and Riley all recording RBI singles for a 4-0 lead.
Taryn DiGiacomo struck out a batter and improved to 13-3 overall in the complete game victory.
Head Coach Margie Acker and the Cougars will return to action on Tuesday, Apr. 16th in Wayne, N.J. against the Pioneers of William Paterson University for a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m.
