Pitman, N.J. (1/28/19) – Freshman Shannon McCoy has been selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office.
McCoy earns her second NJAC Rookie of the Week honor in the last three weeks after exploding offensively in a pair of conference games. She averaged 23.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game against Rutgers-Newark and Rutgers-Camden.
She opened the week with a 15-point, six-rebound effort, going 6-for-12 from the field, in a setback to the Scarlet Raiders. She then lit up for 32 points, including five made threes, along with six assists, four rebounds, and two steals in a loss to the Scarlet Raptors. Overall, she went 45 percent (19-42) from the field.
McCoy is currently second among rookies and eighth among all NJAC players in conference-only scoring (13.6 ppg).
