Pitman, N.J. (2/20/19) – Freshman Shannon McCoy was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year in addition to first-team honors while teammate Payce Lange garnered honorable mention accolades as the All-Conference selections were announced on Wednesday.
McCoy becomes the eighth Cougar to earn Rookie of the Year honors and second to earn the honor while also being named to the first-team in program history. A four-time NJAC Rookie of the Week selection, McCoy finished her first NJAC season as the league-leader in conference-only three-point field goals made per game (2.6). McCoy also ranked second in conference-only scoring (18.3 points per game), fifth in conference-only free throw percentage (.732), and fifth in conference-only three-point field goal percentage (.338).
Lange finished in the top 10 in conference-only scoring (13.9 ppg), top 30 in rebounding (4.7), 11th in assists (2.3) and 10th in steals (2.0).
