Eastern Pulls Past Women's Basketball in Kean Classic Opener

Union, N.J. (11/16/18) – Eastern University used a 21 point third quarter to erase a small halftime deficit and defeat host Kean University by the final of 62-53 in women's basketball action in the Kean Classic.

Bre Spencer led Kean (0-2) with a double-double 16 points and 12 rebounds.  Regie Robinson led all players with 20 points while adding eight rebounds for Eastern (3-0).

Robinson gave the Eagles the lead for good with 7:34 to go in the fourth quarter with a layup.  The Cougars closed within two, but Eastern pulled away down the stretch for their third win of the season.

Naomi Harris finished with the night with 13 points and three steals while Da'Naziah Brown tallied 10.

For the Cougars, Payce Lange added 15 points while Danielle Oakley recorded 12 points and seven rebounds.

Kean will face the University of Lynchburg on Saturday at noon in the consolation matchup.  Eastern will take on Moravian College in the championship at 2 p.m.
