Women's Lacrosse Rolls Past Rutgers-Camden

Camden, N.J. (4/9/16) – Senior Jordan Blanda tallied six goals as the Kean University women's lacrosse team rolled to a 15-7 win over Rutgers-Camden in the NJAC opener for both.

Kean (10-1, 1-0 NJAC) jumped on the board in the first minute of action and never trailed in the contest.

Leading by a slim 2-1 margin, the Cougars used a four goal burst over the course of six minutes midway through the first period to push out to a 6- 1 advantage.  Rookie Morgan Graham started the run and sophomore Krista LaMaina capped it off with 14:35 on the clock.

Rutgers-Camden (6-4, 0-1 NJAC) rallied for three quick goals in a four minute span and got within two (6-4) but Kean was able to add to their lead as halftime neared off back-to-back goals from senior Sam Gnapp and headed into the break with an 8-5 lead.

After trading goals to start the second period the Cougars netted five straight to close out the game and forge ahead to their 10th win of the season.

In addition to her six goals, Blanda recorded one assist, five groundballs and three draw controls.  Gnapp (pictured left) finished the game with four goals and one assist and Graham added two goals and two assists.
