Second Half Sends Drew Past Women's Lacrosse

Madison, N.J. (4/5/17) – Drew University used a second half surge to push past the Kean University women's lacrosse team by the final of 12-8 on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.

Brittany Ballack led the Cougars (7-3) with three goals and four groundballs on the afternoon.

The Cougars and Rangers (7-5) battled to a five-all tie after the first 30 minutes of action.  After falling behind 1-0 in the first minute of play, Kean responded with three goals over the next five minutes as Emily Stasuk, Danni LeSaint and Ballack all provided markers in the run.  Morgan Mason's free position goal with seven minutes remaining tied the game at four-all and each team traded goals to end the first period.

Kean jumped back out on top with two goals to start the second half as Ballack and Krista LaMaina both converted free position attempts, but the Rangers put the game away with six straight over the next 12 minutes to come away with the win.

Morgan Graham (pictured left) registered two goals and three groundballs in the loss.

Kean returns home to host Rutgers-Camden in their NJAC opener on Saturday at 1 p.m.
