Women's Lacrosse Pushes Past Vassar

Punta Gorda, Fla. (3/13/18) – The Kean University women's lacrosse team improved to 3-0 with a 15-11 win over Vassar College in the Spring Fling Tournament on Tuesday evening.

Kean never trailed in the contest as Danni LeSaint scored 45 seconds into the action.  Storm Sideleau tied things up a minute later, but the Cougars regained the lead on an Emily Stasuk tally and didn't look back.

The Cougars held a 7-3 advantage at the break.

Vassar (1-2) crept within three on four occasions in the second half, but the Cougars were able to hold the Brewers at bay for their third win of the year.

Taylor Nyberg led Kean with four goals and two assists while LeSaint added four goals, three groundballs, four draw controls and one caused turnover.

Nikki Apostolopoulos was a bright spot in net recording 16 saves on the night.

Kean returns to action on Thursday when they face Gordon College.
