Madison, N.J. (4/3/19) – The Kean University women's lacrosse team suffered a 10-9 defeat in overtime to host Drew University on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.
The Cougars (3-7) led for 59 minutes and four seconds of the contest before the Rangers (12-0) rallied in the final minutes, tying the game and taking their first lead with under a minute to go in regulation. Kean scored with no time on the clock to force overtime. Drew then took advantage of two penalty cards issued to Kean in the first minute of the OT period and netted the game winner on a free position shot.
Danni LeSaint finished with two goals, including the tying marker to force overtime. Katie Pileggi had a team high three goals to go along with one assist, three groundballs and six draw controls. She also caused three turnovers. Senior Meghan Tillger added two goals and three draw controls in the loss.
For the Rangers, Allie DiDario had a game-high four goals, including the game-winner.
Kean stays on the road as they open New Jersey Athletic Conference play when they face Rowan University on Saturday.
