Galloway, N.J. (4/13/19) – The Kean University women's lacrosse team used a combined 11 goals from Danni LeSaint and Dana Meehan to push past Stockton University by the final of 15-12 on Saturday in NJAC action.
Keeper Josie Pagano registered 15 saves, including seven on free positon attempts, to help Kean pick up their first NJAC win of the season.
The Cougars (4-9, 1-2 NJAC) fell behind early (2-0) but battled back to tie things up. The teams would go on to trade goals for the next 10 minutes before Kean turned it on and scored six straight spanning the first and second period to take a 10-5 lead they would not relinquish.
The Ospreys (8-4, 1-2 NJAC) came within one (10-9) but the Cougars rolled off three more to push the advantage out to four.
Michelle Pascrell would score her fourth of the game to close within three, but Kean added two more within a minute from Meehan and LeSaint to hold on for the win.
LeSaint finished with a game-high six goals along with two groundballs and three draw controls. Meehan registered five goals and one draw control. Morgan Graham collected two goals and two assists.
The Cougars return to NJAC action on Tuesday when they travel to Ramapo College.
