New York (10/9/13) – The Kean University women's soccer team used a balanced attack while blanking host City College of New York by the final of 4-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Cougars improve to 8-3-1 while CCNY falls to 8-3.
Junior Sam Marchetti got things going in the 10th minute, intercepting a failed CCNY clear and firing it in for what would be the only goal the Cougars would need. Sophomore Kendyll Stahlin struck in the 20th minute, and junior midfielder Carly Snyder put Kean ahead 3-0 at 28:22 as the Cougars headed into the break with a three goal advantage.
In the second half, sophomore back Grace O'Brien (pictured left) scored the sole goal of the period, bending a beautiful corner kick that the CCNY keeper was unable to handle. The Cougars outshot the Beavers, 43-2.
Kean enjoys a short break and returns to critical week of NJAC play facing #9 Montclair State and #13 The College of New Jersey.
