Muhlenberg Edges Women's Soccer, 1-0

Union, N.J. (10/17/18) – The Kean University women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback to Muhlenberg College in non-conference action on Wednesday night.

The Mules (6-5-2) tallied the game-winner in the 13th minute as Casarah Morales took advantage of a loose ball off an initial corner serve.  Makenzie O'Brien served the ball into the box that was partially punched out by Kean keeper Casey McDonnell.  The ball then deflected off a Kean defender and found Morales who fired the ball dead center for the goal.

The Cougars' (4-7-4) best opportunity came in the 66th minute as Kean was awarded a penalty kick after a foul in the box.  Brittany Birth's attempt hit the post, keeping the shutout intact.

Kean outshot Muhlenberg, 14-10 with both teams getting an equal number of corner kicks (five).

McDonnell made four saves for Kean while Libby Juliano had seven in the win.

The Cougars host Rutgers-Newark on Saturday as part of the Homecoming celebration at Kean.
