Women's Soccer Battles Rutgers-Newark to Scoreless Draw

Union, N.J. (10/20/18) – The Kean University and Rutgers-Newark women's soccer teams battled to a scoreless draw in NJAC action on Saturday evening.

The Cougars (4-7-5, 2-3-3 NJAC) had their opportunities, outshooting the Scarlet Raiders, 34-11 while also holding a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.

For Kean, rookie Mary Bystrycki made four saves while Heidi Paulson tallied 13 for Rutgers-Newark (6-8-3, 2-5-1 NJAC).

The Scarlet Raiders had four players who each took two shots, one of which was on goal.  For Kean, Cori Dengel attempted eight shots, with two on goal.

Kean's final regular season game will be on Wednesday when they travel to Montclair State University.
