Women’s Swimming Battles in Season Finale Loss to TCNJ

EWING, N.J. (1/20/18)- The Kean University women's swimming team dropped their season finale to the College of New Jersey, 119-64 on Saturday afternoon. The Lions improve to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, while the Cougars finish their season at 0-8 overall and 0-5 in the NJAC.

Kean took second place points in the 200-yard medley relay, 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke, 500-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard freestyle relay. Jessica Leandro and Darlene Holmes both captured points in two events. Leandro placed second in the 100-yard butterfly (1:40.69) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:41.35), while Holmes placed second in the 100-yard freestyle (1:03.53) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:29.32).

Holmes joined Stephanie Kontra, Molly Lasko and Joy-Ann Dimaculangan in posting a 2:14.53 time in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Also, Dimaculangan posted a 7:43.46 time in the 500-yard freestyle event.

In addition, Erykah Cain, Abigail Luna, Gabriella Munoz and Kelsey Rosa combined for a 3:01.72 time in the 200-yard medley relay.
