Women’s Swimming Comes Up Short Against NJAC Rival William Paterson

WAYNE, N.J. (12/5/17)- The Kean University women's swimming team came up short against NJAC rival William Paterson University, 103.5-88.5 at Wightman Pool on Tuesday evening. The Pioneers improve to 7-1 overall and 1-1 in the NJAC. The Cougars fall to 0-6 overall and 0-4 in the NJAC.

Kean captured the 200-yard Individual Medley when Molly Lasko clocked in with a first-place time of 2:40.89. Lasko also totaled first-place points in the 500-yard freestyle event, after posting a 6:52.79 time. Stephanie Kontra came away with first-place points in the 100-yard breaststroke event, after clocking in with a time of 1:33.46. Darlene Holmes tied for second place in the 50-yard freestyle event after she and Iris Santos both finished with a 27.53 time.

Lasko, Kontra, Holmes and Joy-Ann Dimaculangan combined for a 2:06.64 time and first place points in the 200-yard freestyle relay. In addition, Dimaculangan shaved 31 seconds off her previous time in the 1000 freestyle.

Head Coach Barbara Perkins and the Cougars will return to the pool in Madison, N.J. in a Tri-Meet against Lehman College and FDU-Florham on Saturday, Jan. 6th, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
