Women’s Swimming Falls in Season and NJAC Opener to Montclair State

MONTCLAIR, N.J. (11/5/18) - The Kean University women's swimming team dropped their season and New Jersey Athletic Conference opener to Montclair State University, 95-72 on Monday evening.

The Red Hawks improved to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the NJAC. The Cougars fell to 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the NJAC.

 "It was a really great opening meet for us since we've only been practicing for a week", said Head Coach Chris Swenson.

The Cougars collected first-place points in the 100-yard backstroke, the 100-yard breaststroke, and the 200-yard freestyle relay. Tori Hayes bested both the back and breaststroke with times of 1:21.72 and 1:21.97. Darlene Holmes, Sarah Sissel, Kristina Sullivan, and Hannah Criollo combined for first place points with a time of 1:53.74 in the relay event.

Coach Swenson and the Cougars will return to the pool on Thursday, Nov. 8th, hosting the Profs of Rowan University at 4:00 p.m.
