Women’s Swimming Bested by Rowan

UNION, N.J. (11/8/18) - The Kean University women's swimming team dropped their home opener to Rowan University, 147-41 on Thursday afternoon.

The Profs improve to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, while the Cougars fall to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the NJAC.

"It was a very tough meet against the defending conference champions", said Head Coach Chris Swenson. "The girls swam well and improved from our first meet of the season, but we've still got a lot of work to do".

The Cougars recorded second-place points in the 500-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke. Kristina Sullivan totaled 6:21.57 in the freestyle event, while Tori Hayes finished with a 1:21.25 time in the breaststroke event.

Coach Swenson and the Cougars will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 10th, hosting the Bears of St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) at 1:00 p.m.
