Women’s Swimming Produces Strong Showing in Loss to William Paterson

UNION, N.J. (12/4/18) - The Kean University women's swimming team dropped a New Jersey Athletic Conference meet to William Paterson University, 124-73 on Tuesday evening. The Pioneers improve to 5-2 overall and 1-1 in the NJAC, while the Cougars fall to 1-3 overall and 0-3 in the NJAC.

"I'm incredibly proud of how hard we battled tonight", said Head Coach Chris Swenson. "We had season best times across the board and continue to get better every time we touch the water".

Kean won four of the 11 events this evening. Kristina Sullivan won two events, capturing first in the 200 yard freestyle (2:14.10) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:48.64). Sarah Sissel placed first in the 50 yard freestyle (26.49), while Tori Hayes won the 100 yard breaststroke (1:18.63).

The Cougars also had second place points in the 200 yard medley, the 200 yard IM and the 200 yard freestyle relay.   

Coach Swenson and the Cougars will return to action in Jamaica, N.Y. on Friday, Dec. 7th, against the Cardinals of York College at 6:00 p.m.
