Women’s Swimming Rolls Past York (NY)

JAMAICA, N.Y. (12/7/18) - The Kean University women's swimming team posted their second victory of the season with a 95-51 defeat of York College on Friday evening.

The Cougars improve to 2-3 overall, while the Cardinals fall to 1-1 overall.

"We are very pleased to get our second win of the season tonight", said Head Coach Chris Swenson. "Every opportunity to race ultimately prepares us for the championships".

The Cougars won seven of the 10 events with Kristina Sullivan and Sarah Sissel each capturing two apiece. Sullivan took first in the 100 IM (1:20.75) and the 100 Free (1:09.67), while Sissel won the 200 free (3:01.48) and the 50 Back (40.93). Molly Lasko took first in the 50 fly (34.45) and Darlene Holmes won the 50 free event (31.24).

Holmes and Lasko along with Tori Hayes and Lauren Rudd combined to place first in the 200 medley relay (2:46.76).

Coach Swenson and the Cougars will return to the pool on Saturday, Dec. 15th, hosting the Roadrunners of Ramapo College at 1:00 p.m.
